Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Virginia is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers across locations. This on-site role ensures availability and reliability of data center operations through hardware and network diagnostics, repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation.

You will troubleshoot server hardware, perform repairs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and uphold security best practices while contributing to documentation and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.

Responsibilities

  • Meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow.
  • Serve as the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
  • Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.).
  • Carry out routine network, server hardware, and OS related repairs.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to complete routine tasks.
  • Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
  • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goal achievement.
  • Identify and help create documentation for global use.
  • Identify and help create process improvements relevant to the data center environment.
  • Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, and scheduled work as required.
  • Interact with third‑party vendors and contractors.
  • Contribute to the development of other team members.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position requires reporting to a site location. The role ensures overall availability and reliability of data center operations through hardware and network diagnostics, repairs, and participation in an on‑call rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work to meet SLA’s against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow.
  • Serve as the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
  • Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards, etc.).

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Work in an environment that operates 24/7 and participate in on‑call rotation with after‑hours support as needed.
  • Some regional travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
