Job summary

IONOS Group is seeking a Data Center Technician in Lenexa to ensure optimal performance of servers, storage, network, power, and cooling systems in a 24/7 data center environment. The role involves rack assembly, equipment installation, and essential troubleshooting to maintain high uptime, with a primary shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and potential travel.

The position requires 1–2 years of IT hardware experience, basic Windows/Linux knowledge, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; A+ or Network+ certification preferred.
1–2 years IT hardware/infrastructure experience.
Experience with hardware brands: HP, Dell, EMC, Supermicro, IBM, Seagate, etc.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to travel to Kansas City area locations using company transport.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, and configure racks, servers, storages, and network gear.
Diagnose hardware issues in lab and production environments; perform component swaps as needed.
Document and route cabling for network connectivity (Ethernet, Fiber).
Assist Data Center Provisioning, Infrastructure, and Network Engineering as required.
Maintain safety, security, and clean work areas within the Data Center.
