Job summary

Quento Technologies S.A. seeks a highly motivated Data Center Technician to join its ICT solutions team.

You will perform commissioning and decommissioning of data center infrastructure, install and configure servers and network devices, and ensure rack layouts and cabling meet standards. The role requires 3+ years IT experience (2+ in data centers), strong documentation, English at least B2, and willingness to travel between sites in Poland.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years IT experience, with at least 2 years in data center operations or a related domain.
  • Hands-on experience with server and network device installation (Rack & Stack).
  • Good understanding of rack layouts, PDUs, structured cabling, labeling, and asset management systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge: LAN, switches, and connectivity principles.
  • Experience with change management processes and basic hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; willing to travel; valid Category B driving license.
  • Very good command of English (minimum B2).
  • Eligibility to obtain EU Personal Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform commissioning and decommissioning of data center infrastructure.
  • Rack & Stack operations, cabling, and initial power-on testing.
  • Manage data center cabling, routing, labeling of power and network connections.
  • Oversee hardware lifecycle: receiving, inventory, deployment, or disposal.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and report on hardware status.
  • Perform hardware maintenance and coordinate RMAs with stakeholders.
  • Support capacity planning and third-party contractor coordination.
  • Maintain technical documentation and update maintenance systems.
  • Prepare and support changes to data center infrastructure per procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Anti-Bribery/Corruption policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform commissioning and decommissioning activities for data center infrastructure, including the installation, configuration, and removal of servers, network devices, and related equipment.
  • Execute Rack & Stack operations, cabling, and initial power-on testing to ensure equipment is deployed according to technical and operational standards.
  • Manage and maintain data center cabling infrastructure, ensuring correct routing, secure fastening, and accurate end-to-end labeling of power and network connections.
  • Oversee the hardware lifecycle management process, including receiving deliveries, inventory handling, commissioning, decommissioning, and equipment preparation for deployment or disposal.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits, maintain asset registers, and provide reports on hardware status, utilization, and capacity.
  • Perform hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, including component replacement and coordination of Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) activities with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support capacity planning activities, including rack space allocation, infrastructure layout optimization, and coordination of third-party contractors when required.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, update maintenance management systems, and prepare notifications for planned maintenance and infrastructure changes.
  • Prepare, implement, and support changes to data center and core IT infrastructure in accordance with approved procedures and operational requirements.
  • Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience, including at least 2 years in data center operations, infrastructure support, or a related domain.
  • Hands-on experience with server and network device installation, including Rack & Stack activities.
  • Good understanding of rack layouts, PDUs, structured cabling, labelling standards, and asset management/inventory systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including LAN environments, patching, switches, and network connectivity principles.
  • Experience working in accordance with change management processes, operational procedures, and industry best practices, with the ability to perform basic hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, including performing manual handling of IT and data center equipment and operating in a data center environment (noise, low temperatures, and confined spaces).
  • Willingness to travel between multiple work locations as required, and possession of a valid Category B driving license.
  • Very good command of English (minimum B2 level).
  • Eligibility to obtain an EU Personal Security Clearance, at a later stage is required.
