Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking technicians to pull and install fiber optic cabling in Red Oak, TX. You will work with backbone fiber (288-count/144-count), install pre-terminated fiber into cassettes, dress and label cables, and perform terminations on fiber/copper.

Testing experience with Fluke/OTDR is a plus. This contract role requires 12‑hour shifts, 6–7 days a week, with an onsite shuttle from a 6:15 AM start.

Description

Our client is a national commercial and federal systems integrator. Their seasoned staff has keen insight into trends and emerging technologies that are changing the way we work, communicate, and protect our society. They offer design, installation, support and project management for Distributed Antenna Systems, Passive Optical Networking, voice/data, wireless systems, security, audio visual, data center services, and video teleconferencing delivering powerful IP-centric, integrated solutions that get results.

At minimum these candidates need to be able to install fiber/copper, run, pull, dress, label, rack/stack, terminations, etc. Testing/troubleshooting experience is preferred but not needed, they will take lead experience as well if we can find it.

Schedule

6-7 days a week, 12 hour shifts

Monday-Saturday (need to be open to working Sundays as well)

Start time: Early access, night shift 6:30pm-6:30am

Start time: full access (second wave November) day/night shift (6:30pm-6:30am and 6:30am-6:30pm)

Employees must arrive at the shuttle location by 6:15 AM and take transportation to the job site

Responsibilities

Orientation starts on 10/5 onsite and runs every morning (20 technicians per class)

OSHA 10/Scissor certs needed (candidates pay for these)

Back ground through ORACLE onsite during orientation

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
