Innova Solutions is hiring a Data Center Technician for a full-time contract in Abilene, TX. You will install, test, splice, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including fiber, copper, and other low voltage networks, and you will build and maintain cabinets, racks, and pathways.

The role requires 3–5 years of telecom/structured cabling experience, proficiency with testers (Fluke, OTDR, VFL), and certifications preferred.

• Experience with fiber testers and certification prerequisites preferred.

Data Center Technician

Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for Data Center Technician Position type: Full-time - Contract Duration: 8 Months Location: Abilene, TX

Responsibilities

• Install, test, splice, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including fiber optics, copper, communications, and other low voltage systems.
• Build and remove cabinets, racks, cable trays, pathways, and related data center infrastructure.
• Perform physical installations and removals with precision, safety, and attention to detail.
• Follow all Company and customer safety standards to ensure an Accident-Free Everyday environment.
• Uphold quality, production, and industry best practices in every installation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area to support efficient and safe operations.
• Read and follow project drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Apply broad understanding of structured cabling installation, routing, labeling, and commissioning.
• Ensure installations meet design intent, customer requirements, and industry standards.
• Highly reliable - shows up on time, prepared, and ready to work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of telecom/structured cabling experience (data center experience a strong plus).
• Proficient experience installing, terminating, and testing fiber (single-mode/multi-mode connections)
• Proficiency with various testers - Fluke, OTDR, and VFL

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience splicing fiber.
• FOA certifications, BICSI certifications, or similar credentials.

Pay Range and Benefits:

Pay Range*: Between $30 - $35 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
