Job summary

Protingent Staffing is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to maintain and operate a medium-sized private data center, including VMware vSphere/ESXi and storage management. You will coordinate with facilities on space, power, and cooling while managing UPS/PDUs and rack/cabling tasks.

The role requires 6+ years in data center infrastructure, HPE hardware experience, and strong ITIL change-management practices. On-site Bellevue/Everett, contract position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years in data center/enterprise infrastructure.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter administration.
• Experience with HPE hardware and server management.
• SAN/NAS storage concepts (iSCSI, NFS, FC).
• Enterprise backup solutions and recovery procedures.
• APC UPS systems and PDU management.
• Data center environments with cabling and racks.
• ITIL change management practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate a medium-sized private data center, including rack management, cabling, and capacity planning.
• Support and manage local MDF/IDF spaces across the company.
• Perform site walkthroughs and inspections for infrastructure integrity.
• Coordinate with facilities on space, power, and cooling requirements.
• Manage UPS systems and PDUs; monitor health, load, and runtimes.
• Respond to power alarms and support maintenance windows.
• Maintain documentation for power circuits, load maps, and diagrams.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow).
• Deploy and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi environments and vCenter.
