Job summary

Jobtailor in Sterling, VA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee inbound and outbound logistics, labor scheduling, and space utilization, ensuring accurate product slotting and timely client communication.

You will conduct staff meetings to review daily activities, keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues, and develop safe, profitable procedures while pursuing cost savings and KPI targets.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
• 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
• MHE certification or knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• RF scanners and WMS familiarity.
• English language skills (reading, writing, verbal).

Job Responsibilities

• The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower.
• Conducts staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement.
• Effectively keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect the operations.
• Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Manages operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals.
• Complies with terms outlined in the site's operating agreement with the client.
• Implements and reports on‑going cost savings measures.
• Provides ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations. Meets all client specified KPI’s and complies with quality system requirements.
• Manages the operations to achieve prescribed objectives.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
• Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation preferred.
• Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and Power Point).
• RF scanners.
• WMS functions.
• Language skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Basic to intermediate level mathematical skills to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing and distributing client products.
