Job summary

KCI, LLC is seeking a Data Center Services Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale data center construction projects. This field leadership role requires hands-on experience with data center builds and the ability to drive complex scopes to completion.

You will lead all field operations, coordinating multiple trades and ensuring schedule, safety, and quality are maintained while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in large-scale data center construction.
• Experience working in live data center environments required.
• Strong knowledge of cable routing, terminations, testing, and structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
• Familiarity with fiber optic cabling, patch panels, cable trays, and rack installations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proven experience supervising both small core teams and larger crews.
• Comfortable working in high-security, climate-controlled environments.

About the Role

We are actively hiring a Data Center Services Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale data center construction projects. This is a field leadership role for someone who has hands-on experience in data center builds and understands how to drive complex scopes of work to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations on high-value data center builds
• Drive execution of structured cabling, low voltage, and data center infrastructure systems
• Coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
• Read and interpret client-provided cut sheets, blueprints, and specifications — cross-referencing labels, ports, and equipment references to accurately map work and catch discrepancies before they become field errors
• Own schedule, sequencing, and field productivity
• Ensure top-tier safety, quality, and performance standards
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to keep projects moving
• Serve as the primary point of contact in the field for the client and general contractor — resolving issues in real time and representing the company with credibility and composure
• Play a key role in the closeout and turnover of completed systems
• Train, mentor, and supervise field leads, technicians, and installers on best practices and safety compliance

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in large-scale data center construction
• Proven experience managing scopes of work valued at $10 million or more
• Strong hands-on experience with low voltage equipment and structured cabling, building out data centers
• Strong knowledge of cable routing, terminations, testing, and structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA)
• Familiarity with fiber optic cabling, patch panels, cable trays, and rack installations
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in high-security, climate-controlled environments

Preferred Skills

• Experience in large enterprise or corporate data centers preferred
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
• BICSI certification is a plus

Required Skills

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Comfortable with physical tasks: climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if needed
