Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a data center engineer to join the CX Professional Services team. You will install, integrate, and optimize Cisco data center networking solutions, plan migrations, and present outcomes to customers both remotely and onsite.

You will write build documents, communicate clearly with diverse teams, and travel up to 20% per year as needed. A BS in CS or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS, CS, or University degree equivalent and 3+ years of data center compute and networking experience
• Experience with routing and switching on Cisco Nexus platforms and with NXOS operating systems
• Experience with VXLAN or Cisco ACI
• Scripting experience (Python, Ansible, etc.)
• Use of AI in assisting with day-to-day activities and scripting
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with a focus on execution
• Consultant or consultative experience is a plus
• CCNP or equivalent certification expected

Responsibilities

• Work on data center infrastructure projects to install, integrate, configure, customize, optimize and automate Cisco data center networking solutions
• Plan and complete network upgrades and migrations
• Write build documents and migration plans
• Present solutions to customers remotely and in person
• Explain technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Interact and provide consultative support to customers
• Collaborate with customers and project managers
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously
• Travel up to 20% per year depending on project
