Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for the Data Center team in Memphis to build and operate scalable internal systems that keep our data centers running reliably for AI workloads.

Responsibilities include delivering multi-service production stacks, ensuring data accuracy, and integrating with ticketing, inventory, and telemetry systems. The role emphasizes on-call discipline and collaboration with SiteOps and NOC teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related fields required.
• 3+ years building and operating production software (backend and/or full-stack).
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OS, networking.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs for mission-critical apps.
• Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
• Experience using observability tools (New Relic, Splunk, Grafana).
• On-site collaboration with cross-functional teams; cloud exposure expected.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate software stacks for site operations at scale.
• Design and maintain multi-service production systems (UI, APIs, data pipelines).
• Own correctness of operational state and audit trails.
• Integrate with ticketing, inventory, telemetry, and vendor portals.
• Ensure uptime, data integrity, and safe deployments.
• Collaborate with SiteOps and NOC to measure adoption and impact.
