Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Site Manager to lead operations for electrical, cooling and IT infrastructure across co-location sites. You will partner with engineering teams, hardware operations, and vendors to ensure operability, maintainability and reliability of data center assets.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, safety compliance, and cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining high availability for Google's data center network.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, Reliability Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in electrical, mechanical/HVAC, or controls experience in an industrial/commercial environment.
• 5 years of experience in a data center or facilities environment.

Responsibilities

• Support site selection process through operational and technical knowledge.
• Perform operational assessment and risk analysis of third-party co-location sites.
• Own co-location sites facility operation within an area/region, with full accountability for this area tactically.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure they are informed about current work and discuss decisions.
• Oversee technical and team leads through the completion of required maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to maintain equipment to our global standard.

Education

Associates degree / certified training in engineering

Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering or equivalent

Communication with executives

Reliability engineering / maintenance experience
