Job summary

Nexcess is seeking a RMA Specialist to support our 24/7 data center operations in Sunnyvale, CA. You will manage hardware lifecycle, from setup and testing to RMA coordination and asset documentation.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, firmware updates, OS installations, and on-call support in a fast-paced environment. A 3+ year background in data center hardware and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, hardware support, or system build environments.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in IT, electronics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of computer hardware architecture and diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware setup, testing, and validation prior to deployment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Diagnose, document, and escalate issues; coordinate RMA requests with vendors.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware components, replacements, and RMA status.
• Assist in installing, racking, and cabling of servers, switches, and related infrastructure.
• Execute data destruction procedures for decommissioned devices per security policies.
• Monitor alerts, tickets, and chat queues; escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with team to update technical documentation.
