Job summary

AHEAD, Libertyville, IL, is seeking a Configuration Technician for the 2nd shift to build and configure servers per engineering data sheets and system requirements. You will work hands-on with the latest technologies from NVIDIA, Dell, Cisco and other OEMs.

Responsibilities include OS installs, BIOS/firmware flashing, rack testing, and collaboration with multiple departments. Minimum 1–2 years in manufacturing and hardware experience required; strong teamwork and attention to detail are

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
• 1–2 years in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Experience with computer hardware.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure computer servers based on data sheets and system requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware defects, logical issues, and system errors.
• Escalate issues via Jira.
• Install and configure operating systems and related software.
• Flash BIOS and firmware on hardware platforms.
• Power on data center racks using PDUs and test per engineering.
• Upgrade and test network switches.
• Work independently to resolve technical challenges with minimal documentation.
• Assist in optimizing work instructions and technical documentation.
• Harvest data correctly per instructions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support other departments.
