Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Configuration Technician on the 2nd shift to follow platform documentation and apply customer-specific, order-specific, and hardware-specific software. You will work hands-on with the latest technologies from NVIDIA, Dell, Cisco, and other leading OEMs.

You’ll build and configure servers, troubleshoot hardware and software, escalate via Jira, install OS, flash BIOS, upgrade switches, and support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
• One to two years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility
• Experience with computer hardware
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to safely perform essential job functions per ADA/FMLA and other standards
• Regular, punctual attendance to meet standards

Responsibilities

• Build and configure computer servers based on engineering data sheets and system requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware defects, logical issues, and system errors across technologies.
• Escalate issues as needed through Jira.
• Install and configure operating systems and related software.
• Flash BIOS and firmware on various hardware platforms.
• Power on data center racks using PDUs to testing outlined by engineering.
• Upgrade and test network switches.
• Work independently to resolve technical challenges with minimal documentation.
• Assist in optimizing work instructions and technical documentation.
• Harvest data correctly based on instructions given.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support other departments as needed.
