Job summary

CBRE DirectLine is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the operations team in Kansas City, KS. The role drives delivery of network infrastructure and cabling projects, coordinating with clients and site teams to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.

Responsibilities include pre-construction evaluation, cost estimates, resource planning, procurement support, and on-site supervision. A Bachelor’s degree and 1–3+ years’ experience are required; PMP or BICSI credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; 1–3+ years of direct experience in construction management, data centers, or structured cabling environments.
• Track record of delivering mission-critical programs on time, within budget, and to safety standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; contract negotiation experience is a plus.
• Experience building and leading teams; client engagement experience preferred.
• Program management fundamentals knowledge (earned value management, SPI, CPI).
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred; BICSI RCDD or related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish the program schedule and ensure targets for schedule, cost, functionality, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction are met.
• Consult with clients, deliver presentations, resolve issues, and write proposals; manage costs and directing operations on labor and purchasing with BOM.
• Plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities related to construction and maintenance of the project; participate in conceptual development and oversee estimation, scheduling, and implementation.
• Coordinate with site team, PM, superintendent, and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery; supervise team members and enforce safety and quality controls.
• Prepare contracts, negotiate revisions, and obtain permits; manage cost tracking reports and financial plans; maintain the DL Way playbook.
