Job summary

Setec Alpha is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to lead workplace infrastructure projects across New York City offices, with a focus on power and data systems.

You'll define scope, schedules, budgets, and key milestones, coordinating internal stakeholders, external vendors, and on-site partners to ensure projects meet business objectives. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of structured cabling, power distribution, and rack components.
  • Experience with DCIM and BMS integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead workplace infrastructure projects across office locations in NYC, emphasis on power and data systems.
  • Plan and deliver projects by defining scope, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and on-site partners to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet business objectives.
  • Oversee the technical delivery of power and data infrastructure, including structured cabling, network connectivity, power distribution, and physical installations within office and data center environments.
  • Identify project risks, resolve issues proactively, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain successful project outcomes.
  • Work with MEP consultants and building systems vendors to integrate BMS, lighting controls, security systems, and sound masking technologies.
  • Assist with construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle by reviewing, commenting on, and validating design and drawing packages.
  • Track project progress, coordinate planned maintenance and infrastructure changes, and maintain accurate documentation to support long-term operational stability.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-site infrastructure projects, including coordinating remote teams and ensuring project accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of rack integration for servers, storage platforms, network switches, and supporting infrastructure components.
  • In-depth understanding of data center connectivity, including structured cabling, fibre optics, carrier circuits, rack PDUs, and critical systems monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience using DCIM tools and established processes to monitor and manage infrastructure assets.
  • Good working knowledge of hot and cold aisle design, IT equipment airflow considerations, and OSI Layers 1–3 for deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Experience integrating workplace technologies, including BMS, lighting controls, security systems, sound masking, and AV/CATV solutions.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills, with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
