Overview

Manage the delivery of mission‑critical data center construction projects and strategic initiatives across Bloomberg’s portfolio. Oversee design, construction, commissioning, and operation of data center facilities and critical systems while coordinating across multiple internal departments and vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage all project meetings, including minutes, agenda, and time‑management.
  • Lead the design process with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for critical systems: diesel generators, UPS, switchgear, power distribution, chillers, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, building monitoring, and office space.
  • Ensure all documentation (plans, procedures, operations manuals) is complete for final turnover.
  • Lead training for data center facilities during commissioning and turnover.
  • Execute testing and commissioning to meet project requirements and goals.
  • Prepare and present project progress and budget reports to management.
  • Assist with real‑estate site‑selection initiatives and overall data center strategy.
  • Engage stakeholders across Engineering, Data, Corporate Tech, Security, Finance, and Sustainability to align program objectives.
  • Act as escalation point for issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Support program governance, including steering‑committee presentations and documentation.
  • Manage budgets and financial governance for capital and operational projects, including procurement of sub‑contractors, equipment, and vendor POs.
  • Coordinate change‑management processes and risk assessments.
  • Maintain program plans, risk registers, and communication strategies for transparency.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for infrastructure reliability, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Manage smaller initiatives and programs ranging from $100K to $5M.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent work experience (10+ years).
  • Minimum five (5) years in the data‑center market sector.
  • Financial project management and governance experience for projects over $50 million.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
  • In‐depth knowledge of data‑center systems: UPS, generators, electrical distribution, chilled water, HVAC, fire alarm/protection, and critical air handling.
  • Experience reading and interpreting MEP and architectural plans.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10 %.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Real‑estate lease, transaction, and commercial agreement experience.
  • Operational and maintenance experience of critical infrastructure systems.
  • Understanding of data‑center IT systems (networking, servers, storage, cabling).
  • Experience with project platforms such as Smartsheet, eBuilder, Trimble, Procore, Autodesk.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience in sustainability or LEED.
Benefits
