Job summary

GS2 | B Corp™ is seeking a Project Engineer to work on active data-center construction sites in Austin as the developer’s onsite eyes and ears. You will enforce site safety, audit performance, manage submittals and RFIs, and coordinate OFCI deliveries through final turnover.

You will drive day-to-day field execution, oversee commissioning from FAT to IST, and support bi-weekly scheduling and cost controls in a fast-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in project engineering or field coordination, with ≥1 year in mission-critical infrastructure.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Eng or related field.
• Proficiency with Procore, Excel, Bluebeam Revu; familiarity with P6/MS Project.

I have exclusively partnered with one of the fastest-growing, privately-backed data center developers across the US. They are aggressively scaling, entirely unbothered by market slowdowns, and have an immediate ~85 MW pipeline cooking right now across Central Texas, with more hyperscale sites in the queue.

In this role you will be on the ground owning day-to-day field execution, auditing GC performance, managing Owner-Furnished Equipment (OFCI), and bridging the gap between design, heavy construction, and L1–L5 commissioning.

• Location: Onsite - Austin
• Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 base comp + 30% bonus

About the Role

As the Project Engineer, you will serve as the developer’s primary onsite eyes and ears. Operating directly on active construction sites, you will enforce site safety, audit cost and schedule performance, manage submittal and RFI workflows, coordinate critical OFCI deliveries, and oversee technical commissioning through final facility turnover.

What You’ll Do

• Field Execution & QA/QC: Drive day-to-day site execution, audit installation quality, run weekly HRA observations, and manage field punch lists/NCRs.
• Technical Workflows: Expedite submittals and RFIs between the GC and Engineer of Record to maintain jobsite momentum.
• OFCI Equipment: Direct receiving inspections and formal GC handoffs for critical gear (switchgear, UPS, generators, chillers).
• Commercial & Schedule Controls: Audit bi-weekly P6 schedules, validate monthly GC pay apps against physical field progress, and review PCOs.
• Commissioning & Turnover: Support L1–L5 commissioning (FAT to IST), coordinate AHJ inspections, and manage operational closeout/O&Ms.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven Track Record: 1–3 years of experience in project engineering or field coordination, with at least 1+ years dedicated directly to mission‑critical infrastructure (data centers, power generation, or high‑tech manufacturing).
• Educational Background: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Technical & Software Skills: Proficient with Procore, Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and auditing P6/MS Project logic networks. Working familiarity with medium/low‑voltage distribution, UPS topologies, CRAHs, and chilled water loops.
