Job summary

Big-D Mission Critical in Reno, NV is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of mission-critical data center projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, owners, design teams, and trade partners, you will help manage schedules, budgets, procurement, contracts, documentation, and commissioning while ensuring safety, quality, and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in mission-critical or data center construction.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and commissioning processes.
• Experience with project scheduling and construction documentation management.
• Contract administration and cost control experience.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of mission-critical/data center construction projects, including scope, budget, schedule, quality, and client expectations.
• Support subcontract administration, contract management, procurement, change orders, and buyout activities.
• Coordinate with project teams, trade partners, consultants, vendors, and owners to maintain project alignment and progress.
• Track project schedules, critical milestones, long-lead equipment, and material deliveries to support successful project execution.
• Review and manage RFIs, submittals, drawing updates, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
• Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, budget reporting, and financial controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support commissioning, turnover, and closeout processes, including startup activities, testing, punch list management, and owner acceptance.
• Participate in project meetings and provide timely communication regarding project status, risks, and action items.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability while ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
