Job summary

Big-D Mission Critical in Reno, NV is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Superintendent to support planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction on data center projects. Working with the Mechanical Superintendent, you will help oversee field operations, subcontractor performance, safety, and schedule.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of related experience in large commercial or mission-critical construction, with HVAC, piping, and commissioning support

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical construction on commercial or data center projects.
• Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors and field operations.
• Knowledge of construction safety and quality control processes.
• Familiarity with commissioning, startup, testing, and turnover.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with scheduling and tracking project progress.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage risks.
• Regular attendance and reliability are required.

Responsibilities

• Support on mechanical scopes on data center projects.
• Support safety, quality, schedule, production, logistics and coordination.
• Represent the company in meetings and interface with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate and direct all subcontractors and vendors.
• Work with the project team to establish goals and accountability.
• Ensure productivity and efficient use of materials and equipment.
• Verify subcontractor completes assigned scope of work.
• Seek to learn changes in the industry.
