Job summary

Meta is seeking a forward-thinking Data Center Production Operations Engineer to join the Production Operations team for our data centers. You will apply advanced hands-on Linux and hardware skills in a fast-paced, global environment, collaborating across teams and vendors to maintain health, uptime, and scalability.

You will lead root cause analyses, implement automation, and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, with travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• BS, BA or BEng in a technical field or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years IT infrastructure experience in an environment such as Systems Admin, DevOps, or SRE.
• Linux proficiency with triage, debugging and troubleshooting server issues.
• Hands-on knowledge of server hardware and components, including storage.
• Knowledge of data center interdependencies (electrical, cooling, cabling, security, network).
• Experience driving to root cause and managing technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Resolve platform health issues and close tickets, addressing root cause.
• Participate in deep dives and root cause analysis of technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process, hardware and automation.
• Introduce new platforms and hardware to the site with partners and global resources.
• Use data/tools to identify issues and communicate with stakeholders.
• Identify corrective actions with internal teams and vendors.
• Influence future design changes for serviceability.
• Solve hardware/software issues at scale using scripting and tooling.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and systems for repairs.
• Use data analytics to maximize server uptime and utilization.
• Provide training and guidance to team members.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks.
• Build cross-functional relationships to improve global data center ops.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Travel up to 15%.
