Job summary

Meta is seeking a data center Critical Facility Engineer to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. This role focuses on operating and maintaining critical systems in our data centers to support uptime and safety.

Preferred candidates have 6+ years in technical maintenance with electrical/HVAC/controls experience and the ability to work shifts, including nights and holidays. The position emphasizes hands-on work and adherence to Meta processes.

Qualifications

• Requires physical ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks
• Physical requirements include using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, lifting 45 pounds or more
• Experience with electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls in a data center environment

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on operations and maintenance to ensure uptime, efficiency, and safety
• Complete work orders accurately in an EAM system (Hexagon)
• Maintain technical knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations; complete PQS training
• Provide technical assistance as needed; respond to data center emergencies following Meta procedures
• Inspect equipment, safety routes, and grounds to identify faults and unsafe conditions
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system upgrades
• Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs
• Coordinate with vendors/subcontractors to meet Meta standards
• Escalate issues to facility management promptly
• Assist in scheduling vendors during maintenance
• Suggest improvements to operations and maintenance programs
• Work on shift schedules including nights and holidays
• Operate remote equipment and monitor alerts from a control room
