Job summary

Giga Energy in Houston, TX is seeking a Procurement Analyst to own the financial side of construction procurement for data center projects. You will manage budget codes, schedules of values and pay applications, ensuring every dollar aligns with the project budget and paperwork.

This hybrid role requires organization and collaboration with Finance and project teams. You will help build and run an AI-native pay system, manage monthly cycles and travel occasionally to Texas project sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction accounting, project accounting, cost control or procurement operations.
• Working knowledge of AIA-style pay applications (G702/G703), schedules of values, retention, lien waivers and change orders.
• Highly organized with deadlines and multiple vendors.
• Strong spreadsheet skills in Google Sheets or Excel.
• Clear writing and polite vendor communication; you flag issues when paper isn't right.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the budget codes on the PO budget register. Code every purchase order and change order to the project budget before issue.
• Reconcile budget codes with the Project Controls baseline and flag variances early.
• Record each change order against its contract and budget code; ensure executed paper exists before payment.
• Report estimate, committed, invoiced, paid, retention held and remaining cost per budget code.
• Set up a schedule of values for each subcontract and tie to contract price.
• Review monthly pay applications against SOV, contract and change orders before approval.
• Confirm field validated percent complete before release of pay applications.
• Track retention held and released on each contract.
• Collect lien waivers per cycle, including lower-tier waivers.
• Hand approved payments to Finance through Ramp with complete approval record.
• Build and run the monthly pay-application-to-paid cycle; pay apps due on the 20th.
• Prepare cash flow forecast for Finance weekly and monthly.
• Assemble procurement backup for pay applications to customers with Finance.
• Close out POs and contracts: final waivers, retention release and final reconciliation.
• Improve the system each month by identifying bottlenecks and fixes.
