Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) seeks a Principal Engineer, Data Center Studies to lead consulting and system studies for data center clients, focusing on transmission and distribution planning, interconnection, and equipment application.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on electric power engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience in power systems studies consulting, utility planning, or T&D applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting and system studies focused on the data center market.
• Identify market opportunities, shape service offerings, and contribute to long-term strategy.
• Represent MEPPI in forums like NERC, IEEE, and CIGRE to maintain visibility.
• Act as the lead SME for Data Center consulting and support internal/external clients.
• Focus on T&D planning, interconnection, operations, and equipment application.
• Track and support infrastructure development from concept through implementation.
• Conduct load flow, fault, dynamic, and protection studies for high-availability facilities.
• Evaluate data center impacts on the transmission system.
• Model and simulate with PSCAD and PSS/E for grid stability and large-scale behavior.
• Develop business relationships with EROs, developers, and utilities.
• Deliver high-quality technical solutions that elevate MEPPI's data center expertise.
