Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Plumbing Project Engineer in Chicago, IL, to perform advanced design work and project management under supervision. The role leads plumbing aspects on projects, coordinates with other disciplines, and ensures deliverables meet client expectations.

You will mentor designers, participate in professional development, and support staff training. A PE or equivalent certification is preferred, with extensive experience in data-center projects a plus.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years related industry experience.
• PE license or other professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops advanced plumbing designs with limited supervision.
• Delegates tasks to project designers as appropriate.
• Prepares project deliverables (drawings, specs, reports) per scope.
• Performs evaluation and selection of plumbing equipment.
• Coordinates with disciplines to integrate design and client requests.
• Reviews deliverables for QA/QC before submission.
• Assists Senior Project Engineer on project tasks.
• Acts as plumbing lead on projects as directed by PM.
• Participates in professional community for growth.
• Supports staff education and development.
