Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Physical Security Engineer to lead DC security designs across the Americas, shaping security standards with Architects, Engineers and Designers.

You will collaborate with AWS Security teams to apply CPTED concepts and ensure secure, cost-effective data center facilities. The role requires close collaboration, ability to communicate complex designs, and travel up to 20% to site assessments and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 7+ years of physical security engineering experience in industrial or commercial facilities.
• 2+ years of physical security engineering experience in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, or oil and gas generation.
• Experience carrying physical security design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements for DC projects.
• Collaborate with other security organizations within AWS to develop design standards and evaluate costs/benefits.
• Communicate conceptual designs to internal stakeholders and external consultants.
• Maintain basis of design documents, prototype design, and template specifications for physical security elements.
• Create security design scope of work for DC project RFPs.
• Review and direct the work of physical security engineering design consultants.
• Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review; anticipated travel up to 20%.
