Job summary

First Point Group seeks a Data Center Optical Engineer to lead optical transport installations and maintenance in customer data centers and co-locations. This role interfaces with customers and vendors, audits work, and ensures high-quality execution across fiber installations, migrations, and transport environments.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data center operations, strong team leadership, and hands-on experience with optical testing and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations or a similar technical environment with direct customer interaction.
• Demonstrated team leadership experience.
• Strong English written and verbal communication for customer-facing interactions.
• Experience reading MoPs, engineering docs, vendor docs and network diagrams.
• Commitment to safety standards and quality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily audits of work at customer data centers and provide feedback to technicians.
• Interact with customers to provide clear reports and updates supporting Ericsson’s value.
• Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation and migrations.
• Conduct and supervise optical testing using meters, light sources, VFLs, OTDRs, and test sets.
• Interpret cut sheets and network diagrams to ensure correct port connections and cable management.
