Job summary

NextGen | GTA: A Kelly Telecom Company is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to support customer environments and large-scale data centers. Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, migration, and operation of optical fiber transport infrastructure, with travel up to 100%.

The ideal candidate has hands-on fiber cabling, testing, and data center operations, plus proven leadership and customer-facing experience.

Qualifications

• 2.5+ years fiber installation experience, 1.5+ years in large-scale data centers
• Experience in data center operations or similar technical environment
• Hands-on with connectorized fiber, single-/multi-mode fiber, LC connectors and patch panels
• Strong customer-facing communication and ability to audit technician work

Responsibilities

• Lead optical infra work in customer data centers and colocation facilities
• Perform daily audits of third-party technician work
• Provide feedback to technicians to maintain quality and safety
• Interface with customers via ticketing systems and in person
• Document test results, actions, and status reports
