Job summary

Equinix, Inc. is hiring a Technical Operations Technician III (L3) in the United States. This experienced role requires hands-on work with customer equipment, cabinets, and infrastructure in a mission-critical data center.

You will rack and stack equipment, follow Visio/SOP instructions, and coordinate with Networking or Engineering as needed. You will troubleshoot complex cabling and circuits, perform fiber terminations, and maintain thorough documentation while adhering to safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years hands-on experience.
• Hands-on experience in a data center or mission-critical environment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks.
• Experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, cross-connects and customer installations.
• Solid mechanical and/or electrical aptitude at a system level.
• Ability to document work clearly, follow procedures, and meet time-bound commitments.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks in confined spaces.
• Flexibility to work shifts and on-call rotations for 24x7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform installation, de-installation, and modification of customer equipment, cabinets, and infrastructure.
• Execute racking and stacking of servers, network devices, and cabinets to Equinix standards.
• Interpret and implement instructions using Visio drawings, spreadsheets, tickets, and SOPs.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot complex cabling and circuit infrastructure, including fiber and copper.
• Perform advanced fiber terminations and support varied circuits.
• Troubleshoot service and infrastructure issues and coordinate with Networking or Engineering as needed.
• Manage work through a ticketing system with prioritization and time tracking.
• Partner with customers to resolve technical issues and ensure quality service.
• Maintain detailed documentation for all work performed.
• Lead or support cage, cabinet, or infrastructure modification activities.
• Act as a technical resource for L1/L2 technicians and complete all required training.
• Adhere to safety, security, and change-management requirements.
