Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to perform hands-on electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mission-critical data center equipment. You will monitor, test, and maintain critical systems to ensure 24/7 reliability.

The role requires lifting and physical tasks, 12-hour shifts, and on-call rotations. You will collaborate with site teams, partners, and vendors to keep a safe, scalable cloud infrastructure running.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or data center facilities experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of data center facilities experience or 5+ years electrical/mechanical.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with practices and laws.
