Job summary

Hivelocity is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support day-to-day data center operations, IT systems, and network services. The role requires hands-on experience with server racks, power systems, and cabling, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining uptime.

You will install and maintain cabinets, PDUs, servers, and network gear, coordinate access for contractors, and act as a technical liaison for customers and vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, CDCA, or ITIL preferred.
• Experience with racking servers, battery/power systems, and structured cabling.
• Ability to lead projects and work autonomously under customer direction.

Responsibilities

• Support data center services including colocation and deployment of services for customers and internal systems.
• Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, organization, and overall condition of the Data Center.
• Act as a technical and operational point of contact for data center customers, vendors, and carriers.
• Install cabinets, networking equipment, PDUs, and servers as required.
• Install fiber optic and Ethernet cabling.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipments.
• Perform remote hands tasks to support IT infrastructure and networks.
• Coordinate access for third-party contractors, vendors, and carriers related to installations.
• Support Meet Me Room/Carrier Points of Presence and assist with network infrastructure operations.
• Utilize ticketing and monitoring systems to perform daily tasks.
• Lead escalations and projects as needed.
• Plan, install, and troubleshoot power-related tasks including PDUs and rack power.
