Job summary

Csquare in Piscataway, NJ, is hiring a hands-on data center technician to install and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling, cross connects, and run bundles throughout the facility. The role includes physical work, ladder use, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

You will document all tasks in the ticketing system, support the Facilities team with monitoring and incident response, and assist with rack installations, labeling, and offsite tape rotations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• IT certification desired.
• Experience installing, testing and terminating copper, fiber (multi & single mode) and coaxial cable.
• Windows OS knowledge and general commands.
• Security clearance may be required for customer support.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Employer does not sponsor visas for this role.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot copper and fiber cross connects and run bundles across the data center.
• Perform Layer 1 cable testing and termination with LC/SC and RJ45 connectors.
• Document all work in the ticketing system.
• Manage incoming/outgoing tape backups and offsite transfers.
• Monitor critical systems and support Facilities team with the Building Monitoring System.
• Follow policies and escalate events as needed.
• Perform installation/de-installation tasks including racking, cabling, and labeling.
• Work with ladders and hand tools; lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Shift variations including nights, weekends, holidays; on-call may be required.
