Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team in Kansas City, MO seeks a Manager to lead a distributed team of Data Center Technicians. You will oversee installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting of server hardware and components across complex data center environments.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership, lifecycle management of hardware and networking components, and driving efficiency across the area while ensuring safety and KPI alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams for hardware servers and components.
• 3 years of site-level data center operational leadership.
• Experience with Linux and developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and hire a distributed team of Site Leaders to drive safety, KPIs and operational consistency.
• Oversee hardware and software lifecycle including installation and maintenance for data centers.
• Drive efficiency and optimize resource allocation across the area to maximize output.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to remove roadblocks and align with Cloud objectives.
• Host site visits for executives and coordinate with Government Affairs for engagements.
