Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team oversees the physical infrastructure behind Google's search technology. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Data Center Technicians and oversee the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server hardware and components.

As an Area Lead you will drive operational success across a large data center portfolio, balance OPEX and safety, and foster a collaborative culture while ensuring the fastest, most

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience managing technical teams responsible for hardware servers and components.
  • 3 years of site-level data center operational leadership.
  • 3 years of experience developing and managing managers.
  • Experience with Linux and developing network architecture.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team; set and communicate priorities aligned with goals.
  • Partner with teams to manage facility activities and long-term strategies.
  • Maintain and monitor security and operational procedures; analyze trends for improvements.
  • Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.
  • Support and contribute to EHS and compliance programs; investigate and report incidents.
