Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Director of Operations Engineering to set technical strategy and lead engineering support for its data center fleet. You will own the RCA program, drive reliability initiatives, and partner with CFMs and Chief Engineers to ensure uptime and safety across critical facilities.

The role demands hands-on leadership, advanced knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems, and a proactive approach to standardization, with a 24x7x365 operating environment and on-call

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience in a technical or critical environment.
• Proven experience leading formal RCAs and implementing corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, NEC, OSHA requirements, and ASHRAE guidance.
• Ability to travel 10-30% and respond to major incidents outside business hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of operations/reliability engineers across electrical, mechanical, and controls.
• Own Prime's RCA program, including methodology, thresholds, reporting, and verification.
• Develop a portfolio-wide reliability program with asset criticality ranking and PM optimization.
• Establish engineering baseline for operating sites and govern change management processes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Development, and vendor organizations to improve design standards and turnover packages.
• Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team and budget.
