Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to lead deployment and operational services for Microsoft data center projects in Des Moines, IA. You will provide technical direction, coordinate field teams, and ensure safe, high-quality execution.

The role requires 5+ years in data center deployment and 2+ years leading teams, with strong OSI 1-3 knowledge, structured cabling, and customer-facing communication. Onsite work with full benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in data center deployment, operations, infrastructure, networking, structured cabling, or a closely related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams, projects, workstreams, or field operations.
• Experience supporting hyperscale or large-scale production data center environments.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including OSI Layers 1-3.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware and infrastructure processes (racking, moves, cabling, patching).
• Ability to travel to other sites or regions; valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment and operational activities across assigned Microsoft data center sites.
• Review and interpret Microsoft cut sheets, cable maps, and work instructions before field execution.
• Provide technical guidance for structured cabling, network infrastructure, and hardware moves.
• Coordinate field resources, schedules, and project dependencies.
• Maintain accurate project status reporting for stakeholders and leadership.
