Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Data Center Network Engineer to support daily operations of high-performance networking infrastructure in AI labs and data centers. The role focuses on rack-level deployment, cabling, switch configuration, and GPU cluster connectivity.

You will work on spine-leaf deployments, validate 100GbE fabrics, and troubleshoot connectivity across servers, NICs, and storage networks, following established standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4 addressing, subnetting, VLANs, trunking, and Layer 2/3 concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise/data center switches such as Cisco, Arista, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience with 100GbE+ network infrastructure, QSFP/OSFP optics, DAC/AOC cables, fiber connectivity, and high-speed NICs.
  • Familiarity with GPU servers, AI/ML clusters, and spine-leaf topologies.
  • Basic Linux CLI and network troubleshooting utilities (ping, traceroute, iperf, diagnostics).

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and commission high-speed Ethernet switches in AI labs and data centers.
  • Configure switch ports, VLANs, LACP, and MLAG concepts under guidance.
  • Support spine-leaf network deployment and topologies.
  • Install and validate GPU server connectivity and storage network links.
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1–3 issues, diagnose faults, and escalate when needed.
  • Monitor and document network topology, rack layouts, and device inventories.
