Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical for industrial projects across the United States. The selected candidate will bridge engineering design and construction, leading cross-discipline coordination to produce a comprehensive preconstruction plan for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection on site.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in construction management, a bachelor’s in engineering, and strong constructability and scheduling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• 8+ years mechanical engineering or 15+ years construction management in industrial projects.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design and constructability issues related to drawings and specs.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from existing designs or modularization.
• Engage trade partners early through design phase for constructability inputs.
• Organize cross-discipline assessment of mechanical scope for sequencing.
• Identify long lead risks and align with project schedules for on-site delivery.
• Develop and review bid packages with design teams for contractor awards.
• Coordinate WBS development across stakeholders for full scope clarity.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability impacts.
