Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to bridge design and field construction for major industrial and data center projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel. You’ll lead design reviews, develop constructability plans for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors to finalize bid packages.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Mechanical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, with training.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and specs for construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and resolve design and constructability concerns in drawings and specs.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings from existing design.
• Engage trade partners early through design phase.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope and sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate stakeholders for full WBS coverage.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability.
