Qualifications

• Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Data Center Operations, Electrical Systems, Data Center Technology, Mechanical Infrastructure Systems, Critical Infrastructure and Technical Troubleshooting.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts.

Responsibilities

• Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions.
• Duties include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems.
• Regular inspection, maintenance and repair of data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical components.
• Develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving data center efficiency.
• Ensure environmental and safety standards are met and perform repairs quickly.
• In emergencies, manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time.
