Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Lead Mechanic - Data Center to manage mechanical systems and mission-critical equipment in a fast-paced data center. You will coordinate field activities, supervise maintenance schedules, and serve as the on-site expert for HVAC and related infrastructure.

The role requires 3+ years as a Mechanical Lead, strong scheduling and communication, and the ability to work with vendors. On-call rotation and travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Lead in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of construction planning and building systems.
• Experience with building automation systems.
• Strong scheduling, planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site field coordination, supervision, and project management support for data center operations focused on mechanical systems.
• Support operation and maintenance of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.
• Serve as onsite SME for mechanical/HVAC systems, including diagnostics and support.
• Manage preventative and emergency maintenance programs, scheduling, inspections, and vendor oversight.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks; self-perform HVAC maintenance including generator tests.
• Oversee vendors and subcontractors to ensure proper installation and service delivery.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate emergency response to maintain uptime.
• Monitor system performance and report discrepancies to operations teams.
• Contribute to SOPs, MOPs, ERPs and safety procedures.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and other duties as assigned.
