Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Lead Mechanic - Data Center to manage mechanical systems, oversee field activities, and supervise maintenance for mission-critical infrastructure. You will coordinate HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems, mentor technicians, and manage vendor relationships to ensure uptime and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years as a Mechanical Lead, a mechanical/HVAC technical degree, and strong scheduling and communication skills. Some travel (0–25%) may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Lead in a supervisory role or with growing responsibilities over time.
• Technical degree or specialized training in Mechanical or HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of building automation, controls, fire, and security systems.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word; strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel 0–25% and coordinate with on-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with on-site field coordination, supervision, and project management support for data center operations, focusing on mechanical systems.
• Support operation and maintenance of mission critical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
• Serve as onsite SME for mechanical/HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and Diagnostics.
• Manage preventive and emergency maintenance programs, scheduling, inspections, and oversight of providers.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks; supervise vendors and subcontractors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate resolution to maintain uptime.
• Monitor system performance and report discrepancies to operations teams.
