Job summary

IREN is seeking a Construction Commissioning Supervisor – Mechanical in Childress, Texas to lead the installation, testing, and startup of high-performance data center mechanical systems. You will oversee HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are met.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in mechanical commissioning or construction mgmt, with data center experience, OSHA-30, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's in mechanical eng, construction mgmt or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical commissioning or construction mgmt, with ≥2 years in data center/mission-critical environments.
• OSHA-30 cert or obtainable within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems: HVAC, chilled water, precision cooling, liquid cooling (CDU, immersion, direct-to-chip).
• Ability to read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, commissioning scripts, Change Management plans.
• Leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of HVAC, chilled water, and liquid cooling systems.
• Verify installations match design specs, performance benchmarks, and codes.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for installation, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during startup, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Develop and implement LOTO procedures for safe energization and operation.
• Conduct walk-throughs to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect materials, components, and installation practices for contract and code adherence.
• Document inspection results and drive timely corrective actions.
• Provide QA/QC feedback across project phases and support risk mitigation.
• Train and oversee subcontractor teams to ensure policy compliance.
• Ensure systems meet contractual, regulatory, and safety benchmarks.
• Collaborate with field teams, design engineers, and clients on integrated solutions.
• Support energy efficiency strategy development for mechanical systems.
