Job summary

IREN is seeking a Construction Commissioning Superintendent - Electrical to lead the commissioning of complex electrical systems for high‑performance data centers. You will oversee planning, testing, and handover while coordinating with mechanical teams to ensure safe and reliable integration of UPS, switchgear, PDUs, and generators.

The role requires 7+ years in electrical commissioning or construction management, including data center experience, and a Journeyman Electrician license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in electrical commissioning or construction management, with 3+ years in data center or mission-critical facilities.
• Familiarity with UPS, switchgear, PDUs, generators, and redundant power paths.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.
• Proficiency in Procore, Primavera, MS Project, MS Office Suite.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning of electrical systems including UPS, switchgear, PDUs, generators, and ESS.
• Collaborate with mechanical teams to integrate electrical with liquid cooling, HVAC, and BMS.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, scripts, and schedules.
• Supervise engineers, technicians, and subcontractors; monitor progress and safety.
• Review drawings and specs to validate design and identify issues.
• Conduct functional testing, load bank testing, and reliability assessments.
• Ensure NEC/NFPA/IEEE/OSHA compliance across activities.
• Coordinate with project managers and client stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation for handover; support operations training.
