Job summary

IREN is seeking a Construction Commissioning Superintendent – Mechanical to lead the installation, testing, and startup of HVAC, liquid cooling, and piping systems in high‑performance data centers on‑site. You will ensure safety, quality, and performance standards during commissioning.

We require a degree in mechanical engineering or related field, 7+ years in mechanical construction management (3+ years in data centers), and familiarity with P&IDs, commissioning scripts, and CM processes;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in mechanical construction management, 3+ years in data center projects.
• PMP, LEED AP or similar certifications are a plus.
• Experience with liquid cooling systems in HPC environments.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and liquid cooling infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, drawings, commissioning scripts and CM plans.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with commissioning software and project management tools.

Responsibilities

Job requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical construction management, including at least 3 years in data center or mission‑critical facility projects.
• PMP, LEED AP, or similar certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience with liquid cooling systems (e.g., direct‑to‑chip, immersion cooling) in high‑performance computing environments.
• In‑depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and liquid cooling infrastructure.
• Proficient in interpreting P&IDs, mechanical drawings, commissioning scripts, and Change Management plans.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and complex projects. Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities.
• Familiarity with commissioning software, Building Management Systems (BMS), and project management tools such as Procore, Primavera, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
