Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician in California to join a mission-critical facilities team.

You will maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment, supporting UPS, PDUs, diesel generators, CRACs, chillers, air handlers, and related systems to help sustain 99.999% uptime. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, perform preventive maintenance, monitor readings, and respond to on-call emergencies while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience preferred.
• Knowledge of backup generator systems desirable.
• Knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as filter changes and battery system PMs.
• Perform root cause analysis for operational issues.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack level events.
• Ensure all on-site personnel follow safety protocols.
• Work on-call and on rotating schedule as needed.
• Take daily operational readings and provide metrics to senior engineers.
• Handle basic support concepts like ticketing, RCA, and task prioritization.
