Job summary

CBRE Union Mechanic in Cedar Rapids, IA supports operation, inspection, and maintenance of data center equipment. You will partner with internal teams on complex maintenance, perform inspections, and directly complete preventive repairs as needed.

This role requires adherence to standardized procedures, safety and code compliance, and modeling CBRE's RISE values. You will report conditions impacting occupancy and operations, supporting reliable critical facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of related experience.
• Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
• Experience analyzing information to make judgments.
• Deep familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal teams on complex maintenance and repair efforts.
• Perform inspections and repairs on HVAC units, boilers, cooling towers, and related systems.
• Review and assign work orders; complete preventive and repairs as needed.
• Conduct facility inspections and due diligence; report on conditions affecting occupancy.
• Maintain compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, or laws; complete hazard assessments.
