Job summary

Arup seeks a Data Center Leader in Houston to drive the delivery of mission-critical data center projects and mentor the technical team. You will act as Engineer of Record, lead multidisciplinary design efforts, and ensure rigorous quality and client satisfaction on multi-million dollar programs.

You will manage client relationships, define project staffing and schedules, and identify risks while expanding Arup’s footprint in the data center sector through industry engagement and thought

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Architectural).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience delivering design and consulting services to clients, especially for mission-critical facilities including data centers.
• Professional Engineer license in Texas required.
• Demonstrable design management experience leading multidisciplinary teams on design and/or construction projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based working with clients at all levels.
• Collaborative, professional, and detail-oriented with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of data center projects, managing the technical team and ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
• Serve as Quality Control reviewer and Engineer of Record on multi-million dollar projects.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and client relationships.
• Help define project schedule, staffing, and cost targets.
• Identify and manage project risks to keep projects on time and budget.
• Advise and mentor team members and develop cross-functional delivery capabilities.
