Job summary

TechDigital Group is seeking an L1 Data Center Technician in Reno, NV to support data center operations, hardware installation, and routine maintenance. You will perform rack and stack, cabling, asset tagging, and inventory management while assisting remote engineers with hands-on tasks and basic troubleshooting.

The role requires reliability with ticketing systems (ServiceNow or similar), strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a rotational shift environment.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of data center basics and hardware components.
• Experience with server and network device installation, cabling, labeling, and documentation.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow or similar) and basic console tools.
• Comfortable with inventory management, asset tagging, and RMA coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack of servers, network devices, and storage equipment.
• Handle cabling (fiber and copper) including labeling and cable management.
• Support installation, relocation, and decommissioning of hardware.
• Receive and verify hardware shipments, inspect equipment, and maintain inventory records.
• Coordinate hardware returns (RMA), dispatch, and logistics tracking; ensure proper storage and documentation.
• Provide L1 support for incidents via ticketing tools; perform basic troubleshooting and escalate as needed.
• Act as hands & eyes support for remote engineers; perform cable reseating, power cycling, and console access setup.
• Monitor alerts from DC tools; update tickets with troubleshooting steps and status; maintain audit records.
• Follow data center security, safety, and PPE standards; prepare for audits and compliance checks.
