Job summary

Referment seeks a data center infrastructure engineer in New Jersey to design and deploy high-density infrastructure with a focus on liquid cooling. You will manage capacity, oversee vendors, and develop runbooks from lab to production environments.

Role involves field execution, ensuring power delivery and thermal balance while supporting global teams. Onsite daily at NJ data centers with occasional travel; flexibility for evenings/weekends and ability to lift 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in data center operations or critical facilities.
• Hands-on experience with direct liquid cooling architectures.
• Experience managing capacity and density from power to thermal thresholds.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings to trace power delivery and thermal issues.
• Server diagnostics, firmware management, and familiarity with Linux or automation tooling.
• Analytical, data-driven approach with clear communication for global teams.

Responsibilities

• Support design and deployment of high-density infrastructure from spec to field execution.
• Manage site capacity for power, cooling and space to fit operating limits and growth.
• Oversee vendors delivering infrastructure, ensuring power delivery and thermal management meet requirements.
• Develop runbooks and validate new deployments for power distribution, thermal balance and readiness.
• Pilot and document next-generation cooling, including liquid-to-chip systems and secondary cooling loops.
• Maintain monitoring and inventory records, ensuring deployments integrate with alerting and DCIM systems and provide senior technical support.
